The Severna Park High School girls and boys swim teams both took first place at the regional competition on Saturday in Annapolis.
The boys topped Broadneck 331-292. And the girls team defeated Annapolis, who topped them in the county competition, 296-289.
Here's a look at the teams top performers, according to head coach Mike McTammany.
Boys:
- Bennett Bean (First in 100 freestyle, Second in 200 freestyle)
- Kevin Huntley (Second in 200 IM and 100 breaststroke)
- Sam Fuller (Third in 100 backstroke, Fourth in 200 freestyle)
- Matthew Praley (Fourth in 100 backstroke)
- John Bachkosky (Fourth in 100 freestyle)
Girls
- Maggie Byrne (First in 100 breaststroke, Fifth in 100 freestyle)
- Katie Harmon (Third in 200 IM and 100 fly)
- Lauren Belloff (Fourth in 200 freestyle and 100 fly)
- Kiera Murphy (Third in 100 backstroke)
The boys relay team placed first in the 200-meter medley relay and the 400-meter freestyle relay. The girls relay team placed second in the 200-meter medley and third in the 200-meter freestyle.
Both the girls and boys swim teams will compete in the state competition on Saturday at the University of Maryland in College Park.
