'Souper Bowl' of Caring at SPUMC

Local teens will be collecting donations after each service on Sunday to help direct attention to the poor on this football-themed weekend.

While Super Bowl fans focus on bags of snack foods, dips and halftime feasts to accompany Sunday's football, there are others with not enough to eat. Football fans can score a few generosity points on Super Bowl Sunday by making a donation to the "Souper Bowl of Caring" program at Severna Park United Methodist Church (SPUMC).

There will be a group of local teenagers, Methodist youth fellowship members, who will be collecting monetary donations in soup pots at the doors after each worship service on Sunday at the church.

A donation of $1 per person is requested to be donated to local organizations helping those in need of food.
