Snyder's Pub Under New Ownership
Newly updated bathrooms, city sewer, paved parking and other modernizations underway at the bar located on Earleigh Heights Road in Severna Park.
Kay and Troy Bryant, Mark Tinordi, and Jeff Kogok are the news owners of Snyder's of Severna Park at 58 W. Earleigh Heights Road. Purchased from longtime owner Bob Snyder, who has retired to the eastern shore, the restaurant and bar, open for decades, is undergoing a slow transformation while staying open until the official grand re-opening in late April or early May.
The outdated septic system was recently replaced with city sewer but the bigger news for these new pub owners are the two newly remodeled bathrooms. Recently completed by Mahon Plumbing, owned by Greg Mahon of Severna Park, the men's and ladies restrooms are now sparkling with new fixtures, vanities, toilets, lighting, new plumbing.
Coupled with fresh paint and new flooring, the new management is confident these upgrades will draw in a new clientele. Tinordi said he especially hopes to bring in customers from Severna Park.
The spacious kitchen now has a new dishwasher and there are four flat screen televisions lining the walls surrounding the bar and pool table area. A touch of nostalgia remains with a vintage refrigerated beer case dating back to the original owners, still in use at the end of the bar. Serving up the drinks is "Turtle" who started on Jan. 1, the day of the purchase.
The bar is stocked with domestic bottled and tap beers and the selection will be expanded.
"We are still coming up with what we want to do with it (Snyder's)," said Tinordi, a former ice hockey defense man for the Washington Capitals up until 2000. 'We'll decide on a direction in the near future." They will also be branding it with a new name before opening day.
"Hopefully we want the Severna Park crowd to come in," said Tinordi, who lives in Millersville and his daughter Natalie, a junior at Severna Park High School, who will also play a role in getting the place up and running.
In the meantime, the parking lot is buzzing with activity, with work trucks parked out front and the left parking lot groomed for re-paving.
They are reviewing the menu options and planning to keep some of the regular specials, such as a Thursday night steak special.
The current hours are 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Mon- Fri and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sat and Sun. Stop-in and check out what may become another neighborhood bar for Severna Park.

To be honest, the place always looked a little "spooky" and nothing like the "other" Snyders that I have visited a number of times. We're always up for new places and if they come up with a lively menu and don't just cater to the drinking crowd, we'll be sure and try it out.

I heard rumors of a "Tiki Bar" set-up going in for outdoor fun-- that may be more inviting than just throwing in a new set of bathrooms! I have lived here 24 years and must admit to not being tempted, even once, to pull in the parking lot to take a peek in. Re-branding? Oh yeah -- new name, new paint, new everything. Then MAYBE!

We need more good, reliable, family friendly places in Severna Park... where you can take the kids without going broke. We are looking forward to the reopening.... and, yes, the bathrooms did need to be redone. Thankyou.

Stopped by the other evening. Wife and I were headed to another local place for a bite to eat and the wife made me do a U turn and go back to the parking lot. We hit the front door....saw the "usual crowd" early to late 20's, tee shirts and jeans... at a few tables.... with no food in sight....several pool tables occupying the "old/new dining room".....
turned around and headed back to the front door. I am old enough to remember Bob Snyder pettitioning the area to open a neighboohood "Restaurant" that would appeal to the "Severna Park Crowd". Same story..SAME ENDING...AGAIN!

Somehow, I don't get the sense that Rodz and Rydz fits the Severna Park crowd.

Entrepreneurship is a brave and American activity! May our neighbors find the right mix of good work, good fortune, and success.

All shiny and new but with the horrid customer service and the obvious theme being a " biker" bar this should not last too long. Would not recommend going there to anyone

Didn't have horried customer service when I worked there. YES, the place was a little nasty, bathrooms def. needed fixing, plumbing, etc... BUT.. from one ex bar owner to another new one, GOOD LUCK, I too took a hole in the wall & made it a very nice, family oriented "bar/rest.". Hats off to the new owners, people need to give things a chance before judging. If you're not comfortable, leave, but.. I will say, bikers ARE not bad people...& also can be your best customers !! From his picture, looks like Tinordi is spending way too much time in the kitchen.
