A Severna Park man took money from the woman with whom he was riding in a car in Glen Burnie on Wednesday morning, according to a police press release.
Mark Nixon, 36, of the 600 block of Park Road in Severna Park, was arrested and charged with robbery and related charges, according to the release.
On Wednesday at 11:22 a.m. police responded to the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Aquahart Road in Glen Burnie for a robbery.
When officers arrived they spoke to a 33-year-old woman who said she was driving when an “acquaintance,” Nixon, attempted to take money from her hand while she was driving.
According to the release, the woman said Nixon grabbed her hand and repeatedly attempted to take the money, which caused her to lose control of the vehicle and pull off to the side of the road.
Police said Nixon ultimately took the money from the woman and then fled the vehicle on foot southbound on Ritchie Highway, where he was seen walking a short time later.
After being identified by the victim, Nixon was arrested. The woman sustained minor injuries, but refused treatment, according to police.
