Whiz Kid's Name: Sean Gilmour

Whiz Kid’s Age: 17

Whiz Kid's School: Mount St. Joseph High School, Irvington, MD 

Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Sean is one of 61 high school seniors who received the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Maryland.

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness:  According to his proud mom, and included as part of his bio for the Distinguished Scholar Award, Sean’s accomplishments and extra curricular activities include:

  • Ranked 1st in his senior class at Mt. St. Joseph High School
  • Studied French and Latin and is currently taking two writing courses as a senior
  • Plays on the Mt. St. Joe’s Rugby team
  • Member of the stage crew for school productions
  • Has earned numerous awards as a member of Mt. St. Joseph's Speech and Debate team
  • Will be competing in a national tournament for Speech in Washington D.C.
  • Serves as a role model and mentor for younger students

Carole Gilmour also notes that “Sean is a great help to his family and an asset to the crew at Magothy Marina in Severna Park. Known for his quick wit, Sean can (almost) always be seen with a smile on his face!” 

Sean has been accepted at the University of Maryland College Park, the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and New York University.
