Ritas, Sport Fit Hosting Red Cross Blood Drive
The first 25 blood donors will get a free kid's size Rita's Italian ice on Aug. 6 when the Red Cross bloodmobile will be stationed in the parking lot.
There's an added incentive to give blood next month as two Severna Park businesses have teamed up to sponsor a Red Cross Blood Drive from 2 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 6.
According to the Red Cross, there is an emergency need for all blood types.
Rita's owner Rob Marcus told Patch Tuesday that he has partnered with neighboring Sport Fit in the Old Severna Park Village shopping center to host the Red Cross Bloodmobile.
The first 25 donors will get a free kid's size Italian ice in any flavor, Rob said.
"They [the Red Cross] are in desperate need of blood and we are trying to help," he said.

I'll do it! Beats getting a free bag of pretzels or cookies.
