Poll Results: Will Leelyn Drive Expansion Help Chick-fil-A Traffic?
In a recent poll, 52 percent of people said the expansion would not help with traffic.
A Chick-fil-A is set to fill the vacant KFC on Ritchie Highway, but some area residents think the fast food chain will cause more traffic than it is worth.
In an effort to help with the impending traffic, the Chick-fil-A slated to fill the former KFC on Ritchie Highway will need to make improvements to Leelyn Drive before it can open.
In a recent Patch poll, 52 percent said they do not think expanding the road will help with traffic in the area. Many readers sounded off on their frustrations in the comments.
John wrote, “The improvements will help I'm sure, but overall traffic will still be degraded further. I can't believe the power's to be are letting Severna Park be over built. NO WAIT, yes I do believe it.”
The Starbucks that is located next to Leelyn Drive already causes many traffic problems and readers commented that it also affects parking in that area.
“As it stands right now, the parking for Starbucks is horrendous and customers park at Goska's...” Monica Good wrote. “Where on earth is the parking for a Chick-fil-A going to be created?”
Readers also questioned whether a Chick-fil-A was even needed in that area. Another Chick-fil-A is located 4 miles away in Pasadena.
“We didn't need a(nother) Starbucks on top off all the others and certainly can drive 5 minutes north to the other Chick-Fil-A,” Valerie Avedon Gardiner wrote.
