More than 20 kids flocked to Severna Park Library Thursday night for the Paper Airplane Extravaganza.
Severna Park Library was anything but quiet Thursday evening as airplanes soared down runways and over mountain ranges.
More than 20 youngsters participated in the Severna Park Library’s Paper Airplane Extravaganza. Kids crafted their own planes and flew them over makeshift obstacles around one of the library’s activity rooms.
“The kids rushed in and they were very excited,” said librarian Karen Murk. “We hung string from the ceiling, which seems to be the most popular obstacle. We also have a mountain range and runway.”
Murk said she was surprised by the high turnout since the branch had not done a paper airplane event for a long time.
The whole extravaganza was really just a prelude to the main event—the Annual Paper Airplane Rally at the Linthicum Branch, which will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.
