PHOTOS: 400 Locals Attend Annual Spaghetti Dinner
The 13th annual spaghetti dinner raised money for the Severna Park Community Center.
More than 400 people attended the Severna Park Community Center's 13th annual spaghetti dinner Saturday night and each one of them got a plate full of pasta.
The event drew people of all ages to St. Martin’s in the Field Church and raised funds for the center.
“We thought it was great and there were a lot of really worthy events happening in the community the same evening so we were pleased people chose to support the Severna Park Community Center and attend our dinner,” said new SPCC director Jennie Boden.
The dinner featured plates piled high with pasta, courtesy of Ledo, salad and bread. One man in particular put his roll in his pocket to make room on his plate for some salad, which was donated by Garry’s Grill.
The annual spaghetti dinner once again featured celebrity servers including state delegate Cathy Vitale, local business owners, local reverends and even me—your local Patch editor.
For Boden, the event served as an opportunity to meet the community. She said she was very pleased with the turnout and very grateful to everyone who helped with the event.
“I spent a good part of the night at the door greeting people as they came in,” Boden said. “For me the whole thing felt like a welcoming to the community and I got to meet a lot of people. I really liked it a lot and had a great time.”
