Get rid of it, she has been given fair warning!!! Its an eye sore!!! She was just trying to compete ( flowers, plants, pumpkins etc) with the other guy, who is so nice and been doing business there for years.

I think all the other business owners have to collect and pay sales tax what gives her the right to not? Have a yard sale or rent a commercial space. Looks terrible when driving by.

She actually has skirted the county codes/laws. I have been in contact with AACo zoning and they cited her and won. She was to vacate the property and remove all the debris, junk, etc. However, she appealed it and the appeal process allows her enough time to start back up again in the spring/summer, when she will be cited again by zoning and the whole thing starts over again. She will appeal the next citation, as well. It is a merry-go-round of her getting around the system. It just goes on and on and there is nothing (so they say) the county can do about it. It's like trying to evict a squatter! AACo needs to man up and set some rules/codes/laws in stone that will stop this sort of thing. It is awful to look at, especially for anyone coming into AACo from elsewhere. You don't see this kind of thing on the side of the road in Montgomery Co or Northern VA. It's appalling and an eyesore that gives Severna Park a black eye. Get rid of it!

I absolutely agree she needs to clean it up. It does look like a dump. If she wants to do a legal business there, file the paperwork, pay the taxes and comply with the citation. Everyone needs to make money. There isn't anyone who will disagree. But, do it right!
I am not sure how she stays in business. I am up and down Ritchie all the time and very rarely do I see anyone there. She is usually just sitting out in the sun in her andirondak reading.

What does the Magothy not being able to grow underwater grasses have to do with the accident prone junk market on the side of the road? Why would you not want to have a nice looking road to drive down vs covered with trash? I don't understand the concept on why anyone would think it was ok for this person to continue operating. If they cared about the property they were on and kept it presentable for those passing by, then continue. However as long as the place becomes a dumping ground for furniture decaying since 'Nam it needs to go.

Why have zoning laws established if we are not willing to enforce them? I may be snooty, but I don't think anyone living in Severna Park wants to live in a dump.

Personally, I like that the seasonal sales of seasonal nursery plants, pumpkins, Christmas trees is perfect for the plot of land. The junk sale stuff and fence need to go away, really looks awful. I agree no one wants to buy furniture items that have been outside and uncovered. The place right up the street has been doing business for years and has not required a fence or a supplemental winter alternative - they have always kept their property neat and organized. Please no more buildings, houses, shopping centers to be built on this land or anywhere else, we are losing our wildlife and what few wood areas we have left.
