Oktoberfest Dining Near Severna Park
Patch compiled a short list of eateries to visit in celebration of fall cuisine.
In Germany, Oktoberfest—the traditional beer festival—is celebrated in September and ends early in October. But in America, the celebration, which typically involves drinking beer and eating traditional Bavarian delicacies, lasts throughout the month. Put your own twist on the annual fall tradition by visiting a local brewery or feasting at one of the area’s German restaurants.
Old Stein Inn, in Edgewater, reopened this year after burning down on New Year’s Eve. The restaurant features traditional German fare, beer and live music including alpenhorn and accordion performances and German drinking songs.
Regina’s, Annapolis, has a special Oktoberfest menu. The family-owned West Annapolis eatery specializes in German cuisine.
Blob’s Park, in Jessup, claims to be home to America’s first Oktoberfest. It features a huge beer list, traditional polka bands and a menu that includes both German specialties and good, old American bar food.
DuClaw Brewing Company, is not German, but its Mad Bishop Oktoberfest style lager is currently on tap at its Arundel Mills and Bowie Town Center locations.
Gordon Biersch, at the Annapolis Towne Center, features a special German-inspired Oktoberfest menu and its seasonal FestBier through Oct. 23.
