New Broadband Call Center in Millersville
Anne Arundel Broadband relocated its call center to Headquarters Drive in Millersville.
Anne Arundel Broadband recently purchased Broadstripe’s Maryland region and has opened a new customer service call center at their headquarters in Millersville. The company provides cable TV, high speed Internet and phone service to northern Anne Arundel County.
Once known as Millenium, Digital Media, North Arundel Cable and Intermedia decades ago, the company services Glen Burnie and Pasadena, as well as parts of Gambrills, Laurel, Cape St. Clair and parts of Severna Park.
Longtime employees Betty Taylor, marketing manager, and Jamila Boston, customer service manager, have seen the company change hands many times over the years. They both agreed that the relocation of the call center from central Michigan to Millersville was telling of their commitment to the community.
"We aren't driven by corporate needs," said Taylor. "We all work here and live here—we are your neighbors."
"Customers have stayed with us from the '70s," said Boston."We listen to our customers, not our competitors," she said.
John Bjorn, chief executive officer and a Davidsonville resident, is satisfied now being closer to the north county customer base and is planning for new channels to be introduced by fall.
"Let's give people what they want to watch without the channels they don't want to watch," Bjorn said. Looking ahead, the company is also looking at providing faster Internet speed and new product offerings.
The company employs about 65 people and the call center brought about 10 new jobs to Anne Arundel County. There are currently a few openings for technicians.
