Last Chance: Early Voting in Severna Park Ends Thursday

The early voting polling center at the library will close at 8 p.m.

There's still time to cast an early vote at the Severna Park Library, one of five county libraries hosting a polling center that is open for early voting in the primary elections until 8 p.m. Thursday night.

Anyone who is registered to vote and qualified to vote in the primary election can cast their ballot early.

Maryland introduced early voting in 2010 to help cut down on crowds on election day.

This year's primary election ballot includes candidates running to be the nominee for president and U.S. senator.

As of Wednesday, the Severna Park library had the highest turnout of voters with 2,494 early votes cast to date, according to The Capital. The West County polling center had the lowest number with 1,862 early voters. County election officials are reporting a light turnout this year along with a low number of absentee ballots, according to the article.
