Severna Park High School’s (SPHS) Leadership Institute will be hosting a flea market to support and raise money for Segs4vets in the front parking lot of the high school from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 14, according to a news announcement.
Segs4vets, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to giving segways to amputee veterans in order to help them return to their everyday lifestyle.
Vendors can rent a table for $20, with additional tables for $10, and this fee will go directly to help veterans. Vendors can sell their unwanted items for a personal profit. Those unable to attend the flea market can also donate items to be sold at the flea market with the profits going directly to Segs4Vets. Tables are still available, according to the news announcement.
"The main objective of the Leadership Institute is to raise money or awareness to different organizations and to help give back to our community," wrote SPHS leadership student Rachel Harris in an email to Patch. Other charity projects by the club include Soles4Souls and Alex's Lemonade Stand, she said.
