We've been waiting for months for the Five Guys to open in the shopping center next to McDonald's.

The new burger and fries joint is located at 549 Ritchie Highway, near the Atlanta Bread Co.

The staff has been hired and orientation was held on Wednesday morning, said Scott Chappelear, who owns the Five Guys in Severna Park and also another in Annapolis.

Chappelear said after months of hurdles to jump, the last wait is for the gas meter to be installed and final permits to be approved. He is hoping to open late next week.
