Fire Department Seeks Information on Pasadena Arson

Fire officials determine the cause of a fire on Mountain Road on Monday was incendiary in nature, according to a release.

 

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department is turning to the public for help in finding a suspect or suspects involved in an arson at a building on Mountain Road on Monday, according to a press release.

Between 4 and 5 a.m. Monday, a suspect started a fire in a building on the 2600 block of Mountain Road that is owned by Daugherty Funeral Home. The fire was quickly put out by firefighters, but the building had already sustained $125,000 in damages.

At the conclusion of an investigation, fire officials determined the cause of the fire was incendiary in nature, according to the release.

The fire department is now asking anyone with any information relating to this incident to contact investigators at 410-222-TIPS (8477) or arsontip@aacounty.org.

Information can be submitted anonymously. Arson is punishable by up to 30 years in prison. Millions of dollars in property loss occur annually from intentionally set fires, and countless lives are placed in jeopardy, according to the release.
