Everyone's Irish on St Patrick's Day
Find a little Irish fun everywhere you turn in the Severna Park area on Thursday.
The obvious choice for all things Irish, this is the local place to be for St. Patty’s Day fun in the Park. Top o’ the mornin’ to ya at 8.a.m. (yes, that was A.M.) here, where you can start your day off with Irish rashers, black and white pudding, Irish chips and two eggs over easy. Brian Boru keeps the green going with lunch specials, carry-out specials and dinner fare to please all you Leprechauns out there. Festive music begins at 11 a.m. with Brendan Phelan’s traditional tunes and continues with The Brothers McGuinnis, Swamp Candy and Dave Tieff playing ‘til the wee mornin’ hours. All are invited to this favorite of days at 489 Ritchie Hwy. in the Park. Call 410-975-2678 or go to www.brianborupub for details.
2. ADAM’S RIBS
Every bar/restaurant is Irish on the 17th of March every year and you won’t be sorry you choose Adam’s for your celebration. With upscale new digs, the folks at Adam's are able to welcome more celebrants with open arms and green beer. Owner Joe Lefavor invites you to check out the expanded space and spend a little of your “pot o’gold” on the ribs and other delectable fare. Long-known as a favorite adult beverage stop in town, the bar will be jammin’ with specials. Go to www.adamsribs.com and check out the Severna Park's restaurant's offerings at 589 B & A Blvd. Call 410-647-5757 for a list o'offerings.
Hardy partiers know they can always find each other at Bateman’s for good food and good fun at this Park Plaza favorite. Don your green attire and join the crowd here for St. Patrick’s Day specials that include $2.50 Miller Lite Pints,$3.50 Guinness and $5 Car Bombs. There’s a Corned Beef and Cabbage Special for $7.17 all week long. Go to www.BillBateman.com or call 410-315-7960. See you at 556 Gov. Ritchie Hwy.
Just outside the Park on General’s Highway in Crownsville may be where the action is for the wearin’ o’ the green. Claiming the “area’s largest celebration,” Rams Head will be setting up the outdoor tent, open from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. with no cover charge. Head indoors to grab a table for your Bangers (sausage) and Mashed, smothered in whiskey gravy, or try several of the other Irish specials, offered until 11 p.m. The party roars on ‘til the wee hours at 1773 General’s Highway, Annapolis. Call 410-849-8058 for more information or go to www.ramsheadroadhouse.com.
This locale may be a bit off Severna Park’ beaten track but it’s a sure bet for grabbing some fun on St. Patrick’s Day. Shamrocks, rather than palm trees, will be flying in Pasadena where $3.17 will get you a corned beef, cabbage and red potatoes to go with the usual Thirsty Thursday Specials.
The dining room is open from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and green beer is on tap. Live music by local favorite, “Sloe” Jim Matteo. Check out the food, the drinks, the dance floor and the St. Pat’s Day celebration at 8359 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, Pasadena. Call 410-647-6100 or visit www.bambooberniesusa.com.
