ESPN's Chris Herren To Visit Severn School
The NBA star will talk to the community about his experiences and his company, Hoop Dreams.
Chris Herren, the star of ESPN's Unguarded documentary, will be the special guest speaker at Severn School on April 18.
The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Edward St. John Athletic Center, located at 100 Holly Ave., according to a Severn School press release.
The talk is brought to the community by the David Astle Memorial Endowment fund, an annual lecture series. Knowledgeable and/or inspirational speakers are invited to share their expertise, experiences and messages with the community, according to the release.
An NBA star, Herren has been drug- and alcohol-free since 2008. In 2009, he launched a basketball player development company, Hoop Dreams, through which he has trained more than 200 players including some of the top basketball prospects in New England. Off the court, he continues to share his story with audiences in the hopes of reaching just one person and making a difference.
This program is free and open to the public. Online registration is required, as seating is limited.
