Crash Snarls Traffic on Route 2
The accident caused major traffic delays on Ritchie Highway from College Parkway in Arnold to McKinsey Road in Severna Park.
An accident on Ritchie Highway Wednesday morning caused major traffic delays and sent one woman to the hospital.
Lt. Cliff Kooser with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said crews responded to the crash near the intersection of College Parkway and Ritchie Highway—in front of FishPaws Market—at about 9:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Medics transported a 51-year-old woman to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with serious but not life-threatening injuries, Kooser said.
The crash caused major delays on Ritchie Highway throughout the morning.

Hi Anita, I'm sure this incident didn't help with traffic on 50, but I believe there was a separate accident on 50 at the Severn River Bridge that caused backups as well.

I am wondering if the accident occurred near the left turn lane of Rt. 2 North right in front of Fish Paws. That is such a dangerous set up. People turning left don't realize there is only room for one car to sit at that stop sign as soon as you get across. If there is traffic on B&A and you can't proceed through the stop it becomes especially hazardous as people try to get across Rt. 2 and crowd in on all sides.
