County Announces Labor Day Trash Schedule

There will be no curbside collection in Anne Arundel County on Monday.

 

The Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works announced the Labor Day observance schedule for Waste Management Services (WMS)—including curbside collection, facility operations and administrative office hours.

Trash/Recycling Pickups
On Monday, there will be no curbside collection.

  • If your regular pickup day is Monday, collection will occur on Tuesday.
  • If Tuesday is your regular pickup day, collection will occur on Wednesday.

Waste Management Services Facilities

  • All county recycling and waste facilities—including the Millersville Landfill
    and Resource Recovery Facility, the convenience centers located at
    Millersville, Glen Burnie and Sudley—along with administrative offices will be closed on Monday.
  • All county facilities will reopen on Tuesday.

It would be nice if there were lids for the recycle containers.

You can designate your own recycling bin with a lid on it. AACo is only giving out these bins as 1) a way to promote recycling, and 2) a service to its residents. You can buy your own toter with a lid and mark it with a "x". http://www.aacounty.org/DPW/WasteManagement/Bin.cfm

You can pick up a free 32-gallon recycling container (or compost bin!) from the county. The link Jeanna posted above provides info on how to get yours: http://www.aacounty.org/DPW/WasteManagement/Bin.cfm
