SPMS Kids Helping Kids Food Drive

Severna Park Middle School is gearing up for the Kids Helping Kids Food Drive from Oct. 17 through 28 when SPMS students will be bringing in canned goods and nonperishable food items.

The SGA  sponsored drive will coincide with two Spirit Days during the two week campaign.

Students can earn one raffle ticket for each donated item or each smiley face purchased during lunchtime.

The raffle prizes are:

Grand prize- NOOK color

1st prize-  iPod shuffle

2nd  prize- iPod shuffle

Here's what to do:

Oct. 17- 28: Donate $1 for a smiley face at lunchtime, so we can eliminate hunger.

Mon. Oct. 17: “Souper” Bowl.  Wear your favorite sports team and donate a can of soup, stew or chili.

Tues. Oct. 18: “Twin Day”.  Dress as a twin and donate a twin pack food item, or things that go together such as peanut butter and jelly.

Wed. Oct. 19: “Wake up Wednesday”.  Wear your slippers and donate a breakfast item such as cereal, poptarts or oatmeal.

Thurs. Oct. 20: “Meat the Need”. Bring in a can of tuna, spam, ham or chicken.

Mon. Oct. 24:  “Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice”.  Bring in baking items/desserts.

Tues. Oct. 25: “Baby Basics”. Donate baby food, formula, diapers or wipes.  Try and guess “Who is Who” on the teachers baby picture wall in the cafeteria.

Wed. Oct. 26: “Mac- N-Cheese Day”.  Wear yellow today and donate macaroni and cheese.

Thurs. Oct. 27: “Thirsty Thursday”. Bring in bottled water, coffee, juice boxes, Gatorade, etc.

Fri. Oct. 28: “Fruity Friday”.  Wear bright colors and donate cans of fruit.
