50th anniversary event organizer Renee Gibb shakes hands with Officer Chris Calcaterra, who received his Eagle Scout with Troop 450 in 2003. Calcaterra, now a police officer in Howard County MD., took part in the Saturday afternoon luncheon with his former scout troop. Through the years of scouting, Calcaterra said he learned great leadership and communication skills that allowed him to achieve his goal of becoming a police officer. Officer Calcaterra has been on the Howard County Police force since 2008.

Boy Scout Troop 450 of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and School in Severna Park celebrated their 50th Anniversary on Saturday.
Del. Cathy Vitale (R), Severna Park, presented the troop with a citation from the Maryland General Assembly commending them for their length of service.
Vitale praised the scouts for their discipline and loyalty to the community saying “there is something special about this troop and its sense of community."
