What did you do on Valentine’s Day evening? Did your sweetheart take you out to dinner? Folger McKinsey’s fourth-grade chorus serenaded the sweethearts of Sunrise Senior Living Center in Severna Park. 

Under the direction of Folger chorus instructor Melva Sunday, the girls and boys charmed their audience with such delights as “We Appreciate You,” “Bossa Nova Valentine” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” 

Sunday encouraged the ladies and gentlemen of the audience to join in on a classic that many immediately recognized, “When You are Smiling.” 

The children of the chorus even got to surprise a birthday girl with an especially joyous rendition of “Happy Birthday to You” to resident centenarian, Ms. Summers. It was a very special night for all in attendance!
