The community is invited to have dinner to benefit Serving People Across Neighborhoods (SPAN) who will receive 20 percent of the sales from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 20) at the Chick-fil-A, Crossroads Plaza, 8110 Jumpers Hole Rd., Pasadena.
Dine-in or carry-out, no drive through, please. Place your receipt in the black box and the proceeds from the dinner sales will benefit SPAN.

Gotta love Chick-fil-A. Real chicken - not that processed by-product junk. Support SPAN by dining out on the 20th.

I love and admire the work of SPAN but am a bit puzzled by their affiliation with Chick-fil-A. To my knowledge, SPAN services all peoples without discrimination, but it is fairly common knowledge that Chick-fil-A has donated millions to anti-gay groups. A few years ago, a thunderstorm was created when it was revealed thru their IRS 990 forms that Chick-fil-A donated to groups such as Focus On the Family, Eagle Forum, Family Research Council, and groups that offered "reparative therapy". Several colleges and univeraities have asked that their franchise be removed from campuses (even today at a New York college) because of their anti-gay position. We may love their chicken but I can't buy their rhetoric.
